New Verkada Access Control Integration for Savance Workplace

Savance Workplace & Verkada Access Control Integration

New Verkada Access Control Integration for Savance Workplace

Savance Workplace now integrates with Verkada Access Control, connecting physical access activity with workplace presence, Emergency Mustering, Visitor Management, and personnel accountability.
Available for Savance Workplace Cloud customers, the integration can synchronize users and doors between Verkada Command and Savance Workplace, manage credentials, and use successful access events to update a person’s status and location.
For organizations already using Verkada, that means access activity can do more than open a door. It can help keep workplace information current and support the broader people-management capabilities available in Savance Workplace.

Connect Access Activity With Workplace Presence

Access control tells you when someone successfully uses a credential at a door. Savance Workplace can use that activity to help determine who is on site and where they were last recorded.

The integration supports badge, mobile, and BLE access events from Verkada. Depending on how each door is configured, a successful event can update a person’s status or location in Savance Workplace within seconds.

For example, someone badging through a configured main entrance can automatically be marked “In” at that location instead of having to update their status separately.

That information can then be used across Savance Workplace, including the Electronic In Out Board, workplace status and presence views, and Emergency Mustering.

Savance Workplace can also synchronize users and doors with Verkada Command automatically or on demand and supports credential management, badge activation, and mobile credentials.

Use Access Activity to Support Emergency Mustering

The connection between access activity and workplace status becomes especially useful during an emergency.
When a successful Verkada badge event updates someone’s status and location in Savance Workplace, Emergency Mustering can use that information when determining who should appear in an on-site roll call.

For example, a roll call configured to include people with an “In” status can include employees or other users who have badged through a properly configured Verkada entrance.

Savance Workplace mustering stations can also continue operating if the network goes down. While connected, each station maintains a local copy of current status information and synchronizes automatically at a configurable interval. If connectivity is lost, responders can continue running roll calls using the most recently synchronized roster.

There are a few important considerations:

  • Verkada doors need the appropriate Savance Workplace status and location configuration.
  • Emergency Mustering roll calls need the correct filters for determining who should be considered on site.
  • Offline roll calls reflect the most recently synchronized data, so badge activity that occurs after connectivity is lost will not appear until the station reconnects.
  • People leaving the site are reflected automatically only when their exit activity updates their status, such as through a configured badge-out or In/Out door.

When those pieces are configured correctly, normal access activity can help keep Emergency Mustering rosters more closely aligned with who is actually on site.

Extend Verkada With Enterprise Visitor Management

Verkada includes visitor management capabilities, but organizations with more complex visitor requirements may need more control over how guests are registered, processed, credentialed, and managed across locations.

Savance Visitor Management adds capabilities such as custom branding, configurable visitor workflows, support for Windows-based kiosks and devices, pre-registration, visitor communications, screening options, and deeper connections with other Savance Workplace applications.

With the Verkada access control integration, physical access can become part of that same visitor process.

Savance Workplace can manage credentials associated with visitor registration, including badge activation and mobile credentials where configured. Organizations already using Savance Visitor Management can create and manage access credentials without treating visitor registration and access control as separate workflows.

Depending on the deployment, credentials can be issued through Savance Workplace and incorporated directly into the visitor check-in process, including kiosk-based workflows.

For front-desk and security teams, that means fewer disconnected steps. For visitors, it creates a more consistent experience from pre-registration and arrival through credential issuance and facility access.

Built for Savance Workplace Cloud Customers

The Verkada Access Control integration is available for Savance Workplace Cloud customers.

During setup, Savance Workplace can test the connection, synchronize users and doors, and confirm that Verkada access events are being received correctly. Administrators can also determine which access activity should update a person’s status or location.

This gives organizations control over how access activity is used rather than assuming every door event should produce the same result.
