What’s New in Savance Workplace v12.2
The latest Savance Workplace release makes it easier to connect everyday workplace tasks with the systems employees, visitors, and administrators already use.
The most notable updates include new Savance Workplace apps for Microsoft 365 and the new Outlook, improvements to digital Wallet Passes and Message Templates, expanded visitor screening through Descartes MK Denial, and a new Verkada Access Control integration. We’re also taking this opportunity to highlight the redesigned Savance Workplace mobile app.
Here’s what those updates mean in practice.
Bring Savance Workplace Into Microsoft 365 and Outlook
The latest release brings Savance Workplace into Microsoft 365 and the new Outlook through two apps designed for different tasks.
- The Savance Workplace app gives employees access to the Electronic In Out Board, status information, and reports from Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, the new Outlook, and Outlook on the web.
- The Visitor Management Outlook Add-In lets them pre-register visitors while scheduling a meeting, so the information can be ready before the guest reaches the front desk.
Organizations using the Classic Outlook Add-In can continue using it with supported versions of Classic Outlook while adopting the newer apps based on their environment.
Create a Smoother Arrival Experience With Wallet Pass
With Savance Workplace Wallet Pass, pre-registered visitors can save a digital pass to their phone and present it when they arrive.
The latest release improves both the pass and the messages surrounding it. A reworked template editor gives organizations more control over pass design, while improvements to Message Templates, Wallet Pass emails, and branded pre-registration pages help create a more consistent experience before arrival.
Wallet Pass itself is not new to this release, but these improvements make it easier to configure and better align with your organization.
Add Another Layer to Visitor Screening With Descartes MK Denial
Some organizations need to know more about a visitor than who they are meeting and whether they completed the required registration steps.
Savance Workplace now integrates with Descartes MK Denial for organizations that need to check visitor names against denied-party, sanctions, and export-control lists.
The screening happens within the broader Visitor Management process, reducing the need for staff to perform the check in a separate system. When a possible match is returned, authorized staff can review the available information before determining what action to take. A possible match is not treated as an automatic denial.
For organizations with compliance, security, or internal visitor-screening requirements, this creates another way to make those checks part of the process staff already use to manage visitors.

Connect Verkada Access Activity With Workplace Presence and Emergency Mustering
Organizations using Verkada now have a way to connect physical access activity with workplace presence and emergency accountability in Savance Workplace.
Available for Savance Workplace Cloud customers, the integration can keep users and doors synchronized between Verkada Command and Savance Workplace. Accepted credential events at configured doors can also update a person’s status or location, helping teams see who is on site and where someone was last recorded without relying entirely on manual updates.
The integration supports credential management and can connect Visitor Management with physical access where those capabilities are configured. Status information from access activity can also help determine who should appear in an Emergency Mustering roll call.
Meet the Redesigned Savance Workplace Mobile App
Alongside the key features of this release, we want to highlight the redesigned Savance Workplace mobile app. It gives employees a refreshed way to see who’s in and out, update their status, and stay connected to workplace messages while away from their desks.
For organizations using Savance Visitor Management, the app also lets authorized employees handle tasks such as visitor pre-registration on the go. Single sign-on and biometric sign-in offer convenient ways to access the app, depending on your organization’s configuration.
If you tried the mobile app in the past, this is a good time to take another look. The redesign refreshes the experience throughout, making everyday tasks easier to navigate.
More Improvements Across Savance Workplace
The latest release includes a number of additional changes for administrators and technical teams.
A new Integration Syncs page provides history for door, user, and event synchronization, giving administrators better visibility into integration activity. The release also adds:
- Support for LenelS2 OnGuard v8.4.703, with faster, more reliable cardholder synchronization
- Automatic Kantech access-level assignment when visitors are credentialed during pre-registration
- Optional CCure badge deactivation at visitor sign-out, preserving visitor records and reporting history
- Filtering by multiple groups in Emergency Mustering Roll Call profiles, simplifying large-site drill setup
- An updated on-premise installer with support for current SQL Server Express versions
There are also additional reliability and usability improvements across the web application, Kiosk, mobile experience, integrations, and Emergency Mustering.
These changes may not be as visible as the major features above, but they improve the day-to-day experience of administering and supporting Savance Workplace.
