Detect EIOBoard Install from Registry

If you are using a silent install for the EIOBoard Application Interface or the EIOBoard Outlook Interface, it may be necessary to check if you already have EIOBoard installed. There is a registry entry that will tell you if EIOBoard has been installed.

For the EIOBoard Application Interface on a 32-bit system the Registry path is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Savance\Eioboard.Net

For the EIOBoard Application Interface on a 64-bit system the Registry path is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Savance\Eioboard.Net

For the EIOBoard Outlook Interface on a 32-bit system the Registry path is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Savance\EIOBoard Outlook Addin

For the EIOBoard Outlook Interface on a 64-bit system the Registry path is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Savance\EIOBoard Outlook Addin

 

Under this Registry path there is a string value named “TARGETDIR” which tells you the install path to the EIOBoard program.

For the EIOBoard Application Interface on a 32-bit system the default value is:
C:\Program Files\Savance\EIOBoard Application\

For the EIOBoard Application Interface on a 64-bit system the default value is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Savance\EIOBoard Application\

For the EIOBoard Outlook Interface on a 32-bit system the default value is:
C:\Program Files\Savance\EIOBoard Outlook Addin\

For the EIOBoard Outlook Interface on a 64-bit system the default value is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Savance\EIOBoard Outlook Addin\

 

There is also a “Version” string value in this same Registry path which stores the string format of the version number in the format of “X.X.X”.
