Guide to Migrating SQL Databases For Savance Workplace Servers

The Savance Workplace Server has 3 components which can be installed on separate devices. The SQL DB, IIS, and Workplace Application Server Console. If you are moving the SQL DB server or changing the SQL login, then you must update this information on the Workplace Application Server Console to ensure your system functions properly

1. Open your Savance Workplace Server Console
2. Click ‘Management’ then ‘Settings’
   
3. On the ‘Database’ tab that it opens to by default, update the Connection settings to the new SQL DB instance
   
4. After updating the above, please open File Explorer and navigate to your Savance Workplace Installation
   1. Commonly found at C:\Program Files (x86)\Savance\Savance Workplace Server\EIOBoard (or Program Files)
5. Open the Web.config file
   
6. Change the <add key=”SQLConnection” line to contain the correct SQL Connection/Login information then save the file
7. Restart your Savance Server Service via the Savance Workplace Server Console then test to ensure your system works as intended
