How to Set Up Government Watchlist Integration/Background Checks

In Savance Workplace

1. Go to Admin -> Global Settings

2. Click Enable Government Watchlist Integration and click save.

3. Create a Watchlist integration in the website interface by going to Admin -> Integrations -> Watchlist Integrations.

4. Click on Background Check

5. Give the integration a name such as “[Organization Name] BG Check” and click “Create”

6. Configure the Integration Settings

  • Integration Enabled – Enable or Disable the Background Check integration
  • Alert Emails – Input what emails (comma separated) you want notified in case a possible offender enters the building
  • Use FBI API – Enable or Disable using the FBI Watchlist when screening
  • Ignore Records without DOB – If enabled it will ignore records that do not have a date of birth to avoid false positives.

On a Kiosk

Note: A date of birth question is required for this integration to work properly.

1. Sign in as a staff member with administrative settings.

2. Go to Visitor Management -> Screening Advanced and set “Enable Government Watchlist Check” to “Yes”

3. Go to Visitor Management -> Screening Settings and set a Screening Alert email if desired. Note: The Screening Alert Email is separate from the Alert Emails setting in the Watchlist Integration. The email entered here will be specific to this Kiosk.

Testing the Integration

To test that the integration is working, try to check-in to the kiosk using the following names and date of births:

  1. This name should trigger the Savance BG Check:
    1. Aaron Williams-Banks
    2. June 8, 1986
  2. This name should trigger the FBI API:
    1. Boris Livshits
    2. May 9, 1970

Expected Behavior: After entering the name and date of birth of someone in a government watchilst, it should not allow them to check-in and should show them the following message:
