Outlook 2007 or earlier Add-in does not work when an Office 2010 component is installed

The reason for this is that the Add-in attempts to reference certain shared DLLs that are changed when a component of Office 2010 is installed.  This causes the Add-in to fail during initial load.  Any Office 2010 component (such as Access 2010, Excel 2010, PowerPoint 2010, Project 2010, SharePoint 2010, or Word 2010) can cause this issue.

To remedy this, you have a couple options:

Option 1
Remove the EIOBoard Add-in for Outlook 2007 or earlier and upgrade to Outlook 2010, then install the EIOBoard Add-in for Outlook 2010

Option 2
Implement this work around (which applies to version 7 or higher)

  1. Close Outlook.
  2. Download the following:
    EIOBoard 7.0.x: http://www.eioboard.com/downloads/EIOBoardOutlookAddinDLL70.zip
    EIOBoard 7.1.x: http://www.eioboard.com/downloads/releases/7.1/EIOBoardOutlookAddinPatch71.zip
    EIOBoard 8.0.x: http://www.eioboard.com/downloads/releases/8.0.35/EIOBoardOutlookAddinPatch8035.zip
  3. Open the folder where the EIOBoard Outlook Interface was installed to. By default this is “C:\Program Files\Savance\EIOBoard Outlook Addin”.
  4. Replace the “EIOBoard Outlook Addin.dll” with the version in the ZIP file you downloaded in step 2 above.
  5. Open Outlook. If EIOBoard does not load automatically, check to make sure it is not disabled. If it is disabled, go to the COMM Add-Ins manager and enable it, then restart Outlook.

Note: If you later upgrade the EIOBoard Add-in to a different revision of EIOBoard, you will have to download and replace this DLL again.
